Canmore

A housemate of mine, when I first moved out to the West, told me that pictures don't do justice to the mountains. We agree; however, we'll try to give you a glimpse of our weekend to Canmore.

Lisa worked at the Rundle for the summer in 1998 so that was the natural place to come back too. The nice thing is that this is low season ... so good rates!



We went for a tour of the expensive houses on the north side. We were able to get up pretty high and we were pretty impressed with the view ...
Here are the three sisters (above). You should recognize them from some of the first pictures ...


Next we wanted to go to the south side and see the view from the Nordic Centre. This is where some of the Olympic games were played in 1988.


We got up there and then we found we could go higher ... if you look carefully you can see a road going along the right side up towards the tower in the centre ...

We are getting up pretty high here ... so much so we are almost in the clouds! (Low clouds, yes, but still clouds).

This is as far as we went on the road, the tower is just off to the left



And when you turn around you have an amazing view of Canmore!
